Alligator River
The Alligator River is a place of deep greens and earthy blues, with organic shapes reminiscent of the crocodiles and tidal currents that flow through this part of the Northern Territory.
My recent journey to Cahills Crossing, where the East Alligator River meets the sea, was a once-in-a-lifetime wildlife experience.
The sight of estuarine crocodiles inspired me, some of the most enormous reptiles in the world, gathering in large numbers to feed on mullet and barramundi as the tides rise over the road.
In my paintings, I aim to capture the power and beauty of this dynamic landscape, using deep greens and earthy blues to evoke the organic energy of the Alligator River.
