Ode to Kandinsky

Ode to Kandinsky is a vibrant exploration of harmony and flow, inspired by the great master of abstract form. Playing with concentric circles, this work pulses with rhythm and balance, inviting the viewer into a meditative, almost musical visual experience.

Created in my signature Abstract Expressionist style, this piece builds on developed experimental techniques and layered processes. Using a mix of media, I construct depth through transparent veils, allowing hidden dioramas to emerge—whispers of energy beneath the surface.

Using tonal scales of deep blues and white, the composition vibrates with energy, echoing the tension and calm found in nature. These colours, drawn from the Australian landscape, create a sense of movement and space that draws the eye inward and outward simultaneously.

This work continues my ongoing exploration of the unseen: the movement, life force, and emotional energy that lies beneath what we can touch or see. I’m fascinated by how energy informs both the act of painting and the act of viewing. My hope is that this work offers you a space to pause, reflect, and connect—where visual energy sparks conversation, emotion, and maybe even a little transformation.
